Sith Togruta- Darth Tykhi by glittersweet Sith Togruta- Darth Tykhi by glittersweet
Shaak Ti took months to do while this version took only a few weeks. Well, that's probably because the sculpting of the head piece was insane but simple armour and costume is simple ;)

All pieces made by me, only non crafted pieces are the boots which come to the knee, but are covered with armour shin guards and toe caps ;)

Unfortunately the work involved is huge, trying to get the latex laid up evenly in the molds is tough due to the complex curves. I keep trying to figure a way to make them practical to make for others but struggle :) I am trying again though, I have a faster way to do the lekku part at least :)

Thank you :) I love being inspired by worlds and imagining life as a character in them.

My advice is to work out what kind of headtails you want as movie quality will set you back many hundreds of dollars to commission or make. Mine are more like theme park quality- some fine pieces are left of as there is not a crew of 20 following me around at these events as they do on movies ;)

Thank you :) These are a mix of slush cast latex and latex painted over a positive mold :) I've since changed molds so my new set is made differently :) I need to get photos of the new headpiece at some stage.

wow that is amazing!!

not sure if you'd be interested or not but
Im actually apart of an international Lucas film approved Sith costuming organization called The Dark Empire. We do charity work with various orginizations around the world and we accept custom and canon sith, dark jedi and gray jedi. you can find out more about TDE at www.TheDarkEmpire.org
I'm known as Sith Princess Revan on the forums if you check it out.
We'll also have a fan table at Star Wars Celebration 6 in a few weeks if you are able to make it

And once again amazing costume!

Thank you :) I was going to join TDE forums soon after making this but I didn't get a chance to get approval type photos.

I will be at Celebration actually and plan on stopping by the table :) I hope to have one of my SWTOR sith costumes ready, otherwise I'll be wandering around as Shae Vizla :)

well definitely stop by the table, with most of the council there you might be able to get your costume approved right there at C6 ^^ I'll definitely keep an eye out for you and look forward to seeing you there, i'll be in one of my 5 outfits with TDE [link] wondering around or at the table!

Thank you :) It's a fun costume as well as it's not overly so so I was able to get photos wth kids and they all were super excited to be able to play battling lightsabres (my off hand is a shorter saber so they got to hold that). :)

Awwww! :D That sounds cool! I'd totally want to pose with you! I'm a sith human myself. ;)

Are your sabers Duel worthy LED sabers?, or the plastic ones? I myself have three red LUXEON led aluminum Lightsabers ready for duel and cosplay.

Originally scratch built with 3W led but sadly no where in NZ to get suitable drivers (I have looked, and looked and the one that would get the right current and power to make best use of the led was way too big to fit in the hilt. So I will need to buy from CSS or similar.
So the smaller saber (blade and hilt made by me) has the led with heat sink and smaller driver. So the light output is 1/3 what it could be.
The larger has a very powerful torch inside that I wanted to rewire but it's easier and safer for me to have it taped to a tube to hold it in place inside ;) And I incidentally have a hand torch this way ;)
The handle and hilt are also made by me. I built them to conform to rules set in place for the cosplay contest I judge. So they are tough but can't be used as a weapon, they are tough enough for staged combat aside from the connection of the blade to the hilt as I need to be remove the blade and to is on;y goes about an inch into the hilt to allow as much light to shide through as possible.

I'd like to fix the emitter end of my larger hilt as it is starting to show signs of travel wear ;) Also the upside of painting it is I just use Rub n Buff to brighten it at an event if it has been neglected!

more than 6 months of sculpting in clay, molding in paster and fibreglass and casting in latex ;) It was a very long process.

Thank you :) It took six months of sculpting and molding and was based on lots and lots of exerience with sculpting but more specifically some recent experience with another latex piece designed to fit the head.
So I'd suggest learning with a smaller project first as it will cost much less in supplies as you may find yourself needing to do the complete prcess three or for times before working out proportions and scale :)
